Hi, I have a macbook pro with the following specs: Processor 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50d) I have tested the graphics performance with: Need For Speed Carbon (Macintosh Edition) Need For Speed Shift Need For Speed Shift 2 Need For Speed Undercover Need For Speed Pro Street And all of them can only be smooth at low - mid settings. I thought with the CPU and GPU I have, I should be able to run these games at max setting with no lag. If I am running pro street it even lags with medium settings a little bit. I have Windows 7 ultimate and Mac OS X on the computer. I not really a gamer (I do music production), but I expected better than this from a computer so powerful.

Is there any way that something could be damaged? Both OS'es are freshly installed fully up to date. Thank you for your reply MrCaff, but I don't understand how to read that chart? I'm not really a gamer, so I'm not to knowledgable about graphics. I really only use Logic pro etc.

NFS carbon in Mac OS X runs well on OK settings but in windows, all the games run worse. On my windows, it only is able to use 2gb of ram out of my 4 for some reason - would that make the performance worse? Or is it that windows is so, so much slower than mac?

- I did believe that the GPU in my macbook pro would be able to run ANY game at MAX setting and get very high fps. Does CPU make much difference for games? Does SSD make a difference for them?

AtomicGTR tell us a little more about your system. At what resolution are you running the games? 1080p on 17' or 15' with something lower. Or non native 1024x768 What does the Windows Experience Index say? The numbers that go from 0-7.9 in your system settings. Especially the GPU score.

Are you running bootcamp or in a Virtual Machine? I have never heard that it can initialize only half the RAM if you run it native.

Mac games all suck but NFS shift should run on high with some 30 fps fluently not ultra. As for the newer once I don't know any benchmarks and don't have the games but I expect at least middle should be possible. I think something with your setup is wrong answer the above questions. I'm actually kind of shocked at the people dissing this graphics card.

I have found it to be very good - if you know what you are doing. I do not use the stock driver that comes with Bootcamp (just awful), I tend to tweak the game, and then tweak Windows 7 for the best gaming performance. For example, Skyrim with setting maxed runs great on my MBP.

For me, I do the following: -Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit -16 GB of memory -Disable the swap file -I use the AMD beta drivers (modded) -I wrote a script that stops any unnecessary servers and exits any apps that are not needed.I rarely use the AMD OC tool. YMMV, but I have had great success doing this. I'm actually kind of shocked at the people dissing this graphics card. I have found it to be very good - if you know what you are doing. Mid range usually means that you can play current, graphics intensive titles with low-medium settings, and older games or less graphics intensive games with high settings. I don't know if the NFS series is particularly demanding, but most people seem to be happy with the gaming performance of the 2011 MBP models. Most people prefer windows for gaming because most games need it to run, and for multi-platform titles, the performance is usually better on windows. The other advantage of course is that there are much more options to choose from on the hardware side, including dedicated gaming laptops with desktop CPU and GPUs.

Most non-gaming laptops have weaker graphics than the 15' and 17' MBPs though!
